Services for Lula R. “Lu” Anders of Summit were 11 a.m.,Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Hartman Funeral Home of McComb with burial inTangipahoa Baptist Church Cemetery in Amite County. Services wereconducted by Dr. John McCall and Bro. Troy Mercer.

Mrs. Anders, 69, died Feb. 15, 2004, in Bogue Chitto. She wasborn in Amite County on Dec. 15, 1934, to F.H. Anders and RuthTurner Anders.

She was retired from United Steel of New Orleans, La. She was amember of Tangipahoa Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, FrankWilliam “Bill” Anders; and a sister, Doris A. King.

Survivors are her nieces and their husbands, Lisa and Mike Boydof Summit, and Phyllis and Mickey Wallace of Bogue Chitto; hernephew, Charles David King; her brother-in-law and his wife, Philipand Mary King of Summit; her aunt, Ruby Anders of LaPlace, La.; herspecial cousins, Anna and Jerry Brown of Summit, and Wayne andPeggy Roth of Tulsa, Okla.; her special friends, Rodney Jordan ofSmithdale, and Jeanette McDougall of Summit; and her great-niecesand great-nephews, Ryan and Jana Boyd of Summit, and Cory Alexanderof Abita Springs, La.

Pallbearers were Pete Johnston, Charlie Wallace, Mel Ratcliff,Sonny Leake, Robin Fenn, Sid Siebert and Noel Andrews. Honorarypallbearers were Jerry Brown, Jim Reeves and members of Mars HillClass of 1953.
