Services for Carl Henry Chapman of Union Church are 11 a.m.,Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burialin Union Church Cemetery in Jefferson County.

Visitation is Tuesday from 4-8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Chapman, 85, died Feb. 23, 2004, at Meadville Nursing Home.He was born in Union Church on April 25, 1918, to James EdwardChapman and Irma Youngblood Chapman.

He retired in 1972 as a refinery operator for Exxon Mobil inBaton Rouge, La., after more than 38 years. He was a member ofGalatia United Methodist Church in Jefferson County.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Mamie Kingand Inez Ray; and a brother, T.J. Chapman.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Idell Chapman of Union Church; hisdaughters, Nancy C. Mosley and Karla C. Browning, both of BatonRouge, La.; his son, Cecil L. Chapman of Atlanta, Ga.; his sisters,Virgie McCormick and Hazel McCormick, both of Union Church, andLillie Sanders of Fayette; his brother, Percy Chapman of UnionChurch; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
