A memorial service for Carrie Laverne Smith of Harahan, La. willbe held at 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 28, at Brookhaven FuneralHome.

Visitation is Saturday from 1-4 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith, 61, died Feb. 22, 2004, at her residence. She wasborn in Lincoln County on March 17, 1942, to W. Vernon Smith andIva Pearl Case Smith.

She was a registered nurse at Oschner’s Hospital in New Orleans,La., where she worked in case management.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and SteveCantalano of Harahan, La., and Melissa Stoufflat of New Orleans,La.; her sisters, Margaret Watts of Denham Springs, La., Imer JeanKimble of Vicksburg, and Nita Smith and Betty Walker, both ofBrookhaven; her brother, C. Marcell Smith of Brookhaven; hergrandchildren, Brice, Collin and Allie Cantalano, and RussellGuidroz; her special friend, Jerry Smith, and a host of nieces,nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
