The Brookhaven Academy Lady Cougars did one better thancapturing the Mississippi Private School Association Overall StateTournament title Saturday, they won the state title while cappingan undefeated season at 43-0.

Lincoln County should be proud of our Lady Cougars and showerthem with our congratulations when next we see them.

Saturday’s win is the Lady Cougars first overall title since1983, but followed their third straight Class AA state title, whichthey won last weekend.

One man attending the tournament said he didn’t have any kids inschool, but Brookhaven Academy’s achievement made him proud to befrom Lincoln County.

It is a feeling we should all share.
