Co-Lin whips Tougaloo

WESSON — The Co-Lin Wolves pounded the Tougaloo Bulldogs 25-1in five-innings of baseball action Sunday at Sullivan Field.Tougaloo, based out of Jackson, is in its first year fielding abaseball team. The Wolves collected 19 hits in the game.

The Wolves jumped on the Bulldogs 10-0 in the first inning.Co-Lin added two runs in the second, 10 in the third and three inthe fourth. The Bulldogs committed seven errors and had onehit.

“I was pleased with the character of both teams,” said Co-Linhead baseball coach Keith Case. “I was very impressed with theircoach’s (Earl Sanders) character.”

Tyler Perrett (1-0) was the winning pitcher who worked the firstinning. Also seeing action on the mound were Jacob Leggett, JustinSmith, Matthew Fox and Boycee Varnes. Working behind the plate wereDiego Nucete and Catlin Wactor.

Powering the Wolves at the plate with a double and two singleswas Jody Britt. Aaron Guillot tripled and singled. Nucete collecteda double and a single. Ripping two singles each were JeffreyWaycaster and Guy Alleman.

Juistin Sykes, Cass Brister, Patrick Williams, Wactor, KeeyonSanders, Ben Sandifer and Varnes singled.

Co-Lin (3-4) travels to East Mississippi Wednesday for a9-inning game beginning at 2 p.m.
