Services for Daniel T. Nix of Brookhaven are 2 p.m., Thursday,March 4, at Easthaven Baptist Church with burial in EasthavenCemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5-9 p.m., and Thursday from 9 a.m.until noon, at Harrigill Funeral Home, and Thursday from 1-2 p.m.,at the church.

Mr. Nix, 77, died March 2, 2004, at Mississippi State VeteransHome in Jackson. He was born in Calhoun County on April 19, 1926,to Joseph Gurn Nix and Gladys Sheppard Nix.

He was retired from the Air Force after serving more than 20years. He was also retired from the Army Corps of Engineers,Memphis District, with an additional 20 years of service. He servedin Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of New Sight Baptist Church.He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a Mason inthe Masonic Lodge in Brookhaven.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife of 49 years,Nelda Rose Smith Nix; and two brothers, Udell C. Nix and Guin A.Nix.

Survivors are his sons, Doyle T. Nix of Warner Robins, Ga., andJerry E. Nix and Randy L. Nix, both of Brookhaven; his sister,Lorette Nix Smith of Brookhaven; his brother, Joseph Ped Nix ofClinton; and his grandsons, Jason, Steven and Landon Nix, all ofBrookhaven.
