Services for Melvin Leaner Ferdinand of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.,Saturday, March 6, at Damascus Missionary Baptist Church withburial in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from noon until 7 p.m., with family hourfrom 6-7 p.m., at Williams Mortuary.
Ms. Ferdinand, 53, died March 1, 2004, in Albany, Ga. She wasborn in Brookhaven on Nov. 14, 1950, to Melvin Ferdinand and RosieLee Ferdinand.
She was disabled and was a 1968 graduate of Eva Harris School.She was a member of Damascus Missionary Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, RandyFerdinand.
Survivors are her daughters and son-in-law, Katina and CedrickWilliams of Albany, Ga., and Lawanda Ferdinand of Brookhaven; herson, Thomas Ferdinand of Albany; her companion, Edward Levy ofBrookhaven; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Oma Ferdinand, Johnnieand Wilbert Upkins, Pecola Brown, and Althea and Fred Brown, all ofBrookhaven, Millie and Burnell Johnson of Chicago, Ill., andPatricia and Robert Banks of Jackson; her brothers, WillieFerdinand of Bogue Chitto, and Albert Ferdinand and JerryFerdinand, both of Brookhaven; and three grandsons.
