Services for Vanessa Denise Phillips-Eley of Brookhaven are 11a.m., Saturday, March 6, at Alexander Junior High School withburial in Rosehill Cemetery. Services will be conducted by theRevs. Charles Caston of Beulah Chapel and Winfred Frazier of CenterStreet Church of Christ.
Visitation is Friday from noon until 5 p.m., at Marshall FuneralHome in Brookhaven.
Mrs. Phillips-Eley, 32, died Feb. 29, 2004, at her residence.She was born in Lincoln County on Feb. 8, 1972, to Alice Phillipsand J.T. Phillips.
She was a disabled nurse. She was a recipient of the Grace UnderFire Award.
Preceding her in death were her maternal grandparents, DoraVaughn Byrd, and James and Myrtle Lee; her paternal grandfather,Ebb Phillips; two cousins, Sunday and Stacy Phillips; an uncle,Elbie Phillips; and a nephew, Marcus Bledsoe.
Survivors are her parents; her stepmother, Barbara Phillips; herhusband, Andrew Eley; her son, Fredrick Jamall Calcote; hergrandmother, Estella Phillips; her sisters, Sophia Lee, KimberlyPhillips, Christy Smith and April Lenoir, all of Brookhaven,Theresa Phillips of Jackson, and Orlantha Washington of Pearl; herbrothers, Donald Phillips of Brookhaven, and Gary Bell and JamesCalvin Lee, both of Fairfield, Calif.; her four brothers-in-law;her three sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts,uncles, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Oriential Phillips, Jermaine Phillips,Fredrick Calcote, Lloyd Eley, DeWayne Phillips and Christ Tatum.Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Phillips, Calvin Lee, GaryBell, Dennis Lee, Jamall Calcote and Andrew Eley.
