MCCOMB — The Brookhaven Lady Panthers swept a fastpitchsoftball doubleheader from the McComb Lady Tigers Thursdaynight.

Brookhaven clipped McComb 10-9 in eight innings in the varsitygame.

Posting the win was Ashley Sykes (6-2) with eight strikeouts andeight walks. Kay Murrell absorbed the loss.

Allyson Wallace powered Brookhaven with a three-run home run anda double. Brittany Smith doubled and singled. Also doubling wasSykes. Kaylin Prince and Terri Hodges singled.

Junior varsity

The Lady Panthers pounded the Lady Tigers 15-6. Jana Wallacepaced Brookhaven with a triple and a single. Casi Langston tripled.Hitting safely were Hannah Lowman, Katie Smith, Hodges, ChristiMartin and Sabrina Delaughter.

Brookhaven hosts West Jones today at the Sportsplex. The JVbegins play at 5 p.m.,. followed by the varsity at 6:30.
