Services for Donald Clyde Nevels Sr. of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.,Wednesday, March 10, at Community Funeral Services Chapel withburial in Easthaven Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5-9 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Nevels, 79, died March 8, 2004, at Silver Cross NursingHome. He was born in Lincoln County on Jan. 10, 1925, to Elmer S.Nevels and Anna Smith Nevels.

He was a retired welder. He was a sergeant in the Army, servingduring World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member ofPearlhaven Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; three sisters, MildredStewart, Irene Price and Sammie Nevels; and three brothers, JamesS. Nevels, Paul Lee Nevels and Jerry Nevels.

Survivors are his wife, LaNora Furlow Nevels; his sons anddaughters-in-law, Donald C. and Susan Beall Nevels, and Dwayne C.and Johnnie Nevels, all of Brookhaven; his sister, Doris Brown; hisbrothers and sisters-in-law, W.E. and Audrey Nevels, Howard Nevels,Robert E. and Bobbie Nevels, and Ralph and Sue Nevels, all ofBrookhaven, and Ivan Nevels of Baton Rouge, La.; and twograndchildren.
