Bogue Chitto wins twice

BOGUE CHITTO — The host Bogue Chitto Bobcats won both games inSaturday’s Lincoln County Tournament. Bogue Chitto crushedEnterprise 19-6 in the third game and won 7-5 over West Lincoln inthe first game. The second tourney game saw West Lincoln dustEnterprise 8-2.

Bogue Chitto 19, Enterprise 6

Steven Snow of Bogue Chitto fanned 10 batters and walked one forthe win in the opening game. Peyton Greene was the losing hurlerwith three strikeouts and six walks.

Leading Bogue Chitto (4-4) with a pair of doubles was JosephHart. Doubling was Seth Avants. Luke Moak, Todd Davis and LangePorter singled.

“We hit the ball better this game,” said Bogue Chitto coach AdamMoak. “Steven Snow pitched a good game.”

Scott Sasser blasted a home run and a single for 2-4 Enterprise.Blake McKee singled twice. Hitting safely were Matt Floyd andJonathan Beeson.

Both teams had six hits and three errors.

West Lincoln 8, Enterprise 2

In the second game, Daniel Allen struck out 12 batters andwalked one for the victory. Corey Everett took the loss with twostrikeouts and one walk.

“We hit the ball a lot better this game,” said Coach Redd. “Weplayed good on the field. Dan pitched a great game.”

Directing the Bears with a double and a single were Dan Lofton,Robby Dees and Allen. Landon Case, Shane Lynch and Phil Jaranciksingled twice.

“We came out flat,” said Enterprise coach Scott Leggett. “Wemade a few errors.”

Scott Sasser singled twice for Enterprise (2-3, 1-1). LeightonTate and Green singled.

Bogue Chitto 7, West Lincoln 5

The winner on the mound was Joseph Hart with four strikeouts andtwo walks. Casey Britt fanned five batters and walked four in theloss.

“It was a good win to help us get back going again,” added CoachMoak.

The Bobcats were led by Luke Moak with a double. Singling wereMichael Blackwell, Chad Moak and Hart.

“My guys were tired from getting in late last night,” said CoachRedd. “We ran into some pitching problems. We used four pitchersand no one could fined the strike zone.”

For West Lincoln, Allen paced the Bears with a double and twosingles. Britt doubled and singled. Belting two singles apiece wereShane Lynch, Daniel Lofton, Weston Young and Jarancik. Robbie Deessingled.

Bogue Chitto, Enterprise and West Lincoln resume baseball playfollowing the Spring Break. West Lincoln at Vicksburg St. AloysiusFriday. Bogue Chitto vistis Natchez Cathedral and Pelahatchievisits Enteprise on Tuesday, March 23.
