Panthers maul Natchez

NATCHEZ –Brooks Hall tossed a 4-hitter and the BrookhavenPanthers whipped Natchez 13-1 Saturday at Liberty Park. In 5innings, Hall gave up 1 earned run, struck out 5 and walked 2.
“Brooks had a good game,” said BHS head coach Randy Spring. “Healso had four RBI.”
Hall, a senior right-hander, doubled and singled at the plate.Right-fielder W.T. King tripled and doubled. Designated hitterDarius Perkins finished with 3 hits, including a double.
Xavier Qualls, Adam Ogden, Grant McDonnieal, Josh Patrick andCody Dunaway also hit safely for Brookhaven. McDonnieal and Perkinsboth had 2 RBI.
Natchez (5-5) scored once in the second inning. The Bulldogs arecoached by Charlie Williams.
Brookhaven participates in the McComb Tournament Monday, meetingthe Brandon Bulldogs at 4 p.m. McComb and Brandon will play at6:30.
The Panthers play Jim Hill’s Tigers at Battlefield Park inJackson Friday in a Division 6-4A test. The varsity game starts at1 p.m., followed by the junior varsity game.
