VICKSBURG — The Warren Central Lady Vikings defeated theBrookhaven Lady Panthers 5-3 Tuesday in fastpitch softball action.Winning pitcher Brittany Fuller struck out 10 batters and walked 2,allowing 7 hits.

Ashley Sykes started on the mound for Brookhaven but was injuredin the second inning when she pulled a leg muscle. Brittany Smithreplaced Sykes and absorbed the loss. Smith gave up 4 hits andwalked 2.

Leading Brookhaven at the plate were second baseman AllysonWallace and catcher Megan Bateman with 2 singles. Taylor Crane,Terri Hodges and Smith singled.

The Lady Vikings scored once in the second, once in the fifthand added 3 more runs in the sixth.

The Lady Panthers finish their season 15-6 and take third placein the Division 6-4A race. They lose only one senior inBateman.
