Services for Thelma Maxine “Gran-Honey” Short of Union Churchare 11 a.m., Monday, April 19, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapelwith burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 4-9 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Short, 76, died April 17, 2004, at her residence. She wasborn in Gilem, La., on Jan. 21, 1928, to Henry O’Neal Stanley andLillie Law Stanley. She was a lifelong resident of UnionChurch.

She was a retired nurse. She had attended a year of college.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, A.J. ShortJr.; a son, A.J. Butch Short III; two brothers, O’Neal Stanley andJ.W. Stanley; and a grandson, Wesley Adams.

Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Howard Adamsof Union Church; a son and daughter-in-law, William and Linda Shortof Florence; her sisters-in-law, Eloise Daniels of Nashville, Ark.,and Jan Stanley of Kilgore, Texas; her brothers and sisters-in-law,Rudolph Stanley and Lima, Harold Stanley and Claire, and JamesStanley and Maxine, all of Kilgore, Texas, Jerry Stanley and Janeof Dallas, Texas, and Travis Stanley and Patricia of Gladewater,Texas; five grandchildren and their spouses, Felisha Bracey andKevin, and Kristi Britt and Kevin, all of Union Church, Bill Shortand Brenda of Greenville, Texas, Amy Short, and Jessica Short, bothof Florence; eight great-grandchildren; and a special friend,Beverly Hammil and her family.
