3 Wolves make Region 23

WESSON — Three members of the Copiah-Lincoln Community Collegebaseball team have been named National Junior College AthleticAssociation (NJCAA) All-Region 23 Team. Sophomore Cole Zumbro ofMcCall Creek, freshman Ryan Belanger of Houma, La., and freshmanPatrick Williams of Crystal Springs have been named to the15-member team.

Zumbro and Belanger were also named to the MississippiAssociation of Community and Junior College (MACJC) All-StateTeam.

Zumbro (6-2, 220) posted a 7-2 record for 2004 with a 3.45 ERA.As the designated hitter, the Franklin County High School productwas second on the team with a .339 batting average. He accountedfor 5 home runs and 22 RBIs.

Belanger (5-10, 150) ended his freshman season with a 6-2 recordand a 2.55 ERA. He led the team with 71 strikeouts and 4 saves. In60 innings, he only allowed 24 walks.

Williams led the team in hitting with a .354 batting average, 56hits, 9 home runs and 46 RBIs. The Copiah Academy product splittime at second base and shortstop and played in 51 games for theWolfpack.

The Wolfpack (32-18, 11-5), under the direction of Head CoachKeith Case, were runners-up in the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament andthird in the MACJC State Tournament.
