Co-Lin plans softball camp

WESSON — Copiah-Lincoln Community College will hold anAll-Skills Fastpitch Softball Camp for players ages 10-17, June28-July 1, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Campers will cover all aspects ofthe game of softball, including fundamentals, mechanics, skills anddrills for offense and defense.

Participants should bring their cleats, glove and bat(optional). Catchers should bring their catching gear.

Registration will be held from 7:45-8:30 a.m. at the Lady WolvesSoftball Field on the Wesson campus the first day of camp.Preregistration is preferred for scheduling purposes, but notrequired. Cost for the camp is $70 and includes a camp T-shirt,limited insurance and drinks.

Camp director is Lady Wolves coed softball coach Allen Kent whois in his third year at the helm. He has led Co-Lin to theState/Regional tournament for two straight years. This year’s teamset a school record with 25 wins.

The Lady Wolves have been ranked in the Top 10 in the NJCAApolls the past two seasons. Kent is a former Co-Lin baseball playerand has been involved in baseball/softball for 30 years.

Co-camp director will be Co-Lin assistant softball coach JohnnyWilliams. Other camp instructors will include area high schoolcoaches along with current and former Co-Lin players.
