NATCHEZ — The visiting Brookhaven All-Stars knocked off Summit7-2 Thursday night in the first game of the Dixie Boys 14s DistrictFour Round-Robin Tournament.

Tonight, Summit battles Natchez at 7 p.m. Brookhaven playsSaturday at 7 against Natchez.

“The boys played real well defensively,” said Brookhaven headcoach Perry Brown.

Brown complimented centerfielder Sawyer Wallace on making theplay of the game. The game was tied 2-2 with 2 out in the firstinning and Summit at bat. Wallace played a grounder perfectly andthrew out base runner Will Huggins who was trying to steal homeplate to end the scoring threat and the inning.

Brookhaven broke the deadlock with 2 runs in the second inningfor a 4-2 lead. The visitors added 2 more runs in the fifth for a5-2 advantage and 1 in the seventh to secure the win.

Directing Brookhaven on the mound was Jacob Dunn with 11strikeouts and 2 walks in 7 innings. John Paul Sullivan was thelosing hurler with 3 strikeouts and 4 walks.

“He (Dunn) had a heck of a game,” added Brown.

At the plate, Dunn sparked Brookhaven with a pair of singles.Seth Cliburn, Justin Boone and Robbie Coone singled.

Summit was led by Sullivan’s pair of singles. Kelron Robinson,Mitchell Young and Huggins hit safely.

Both teams had 5 hits apiece. Brookhaven committed 3 errors andSummit had 5.
