Graveside services for Houston “Tex” Weathersby Sr. of NewOrleans, La., are 10 a.m., Saturday, July 10, at Bethany ChurchCemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Weathersby, 81, died July 1, 2004, at Canon Hospice in NewOrleans. He was born in Lawrence County on Aug. 16, 1922, to WaltonWeathersby and Jessie Stovall Weathersby.

He was a retired engineer. He was a World War II U.S. Navyveteran.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Katie Hawkins Weathersby of New Orleans;his daughters, Emma Louise Ackems of Tulsa, Okla., Mary JessieAdams of Chicago, Ill., Jeanette Campbell of Brookhaven, and BessieWeathersby of Kansas City, Mo.; his son, Houston Weathersby Jr. ofHattiesburg; his sister, Julia Bethley of Hattiesburg; and manygrandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
