LAUREL – Wesson dropped a 6-4 decision to Hattiesburg hereSunday afternoon in the Dixie Majors State Tournament atWooten-Legion Field.

Wesson opened the tournament with a 10-3 win over ClarksdaleSaturday.

Hattiesburg 6, Wesson 4

Hattiesburg led 2-0 after one but Wesson tied it in the thirdand went up 4-2 after four. But Hattiesburg took the lead withthree in the fifth and added another in the sixth.

Reggie Lee came on in the fourth in relief of Curtis Banks andgot the win. Chase Herrin doubled for Hattiesburg, while Lee, ChipPhillips, Josh Chatman and Brent Lefan added singles.

Wade Williams, Daniel Watson, Corey Puckett, Brian Channell andBrandon Hood singled for Wesson.

Williams came on in the fourth in relief of starter JosephLangham and was charged with the loss.
