LAUREL — Jackson crushed Wesson 16-1 here Monday atWooten-Legion Field in a loser’s bracket game of the Dixie MajorState Tournament.

Jackson scored two runs each in the first, second and thirdinnings. They got single runs in the fourth and fifth. In theseventh, they sent 14 batters to the plate and scored eightruns.

Nick Stewart went the distance, gave up two hits and got thewin. Will Walker blasted a two-run home run over the left-fieldwall for Jackson.

That’s the only home run in the tournament so far.

Jeff Moore doubled and singled twice, while Doye Harringtonsingled three times for Jackson. Curby Sanders added a double,while Justin Reed, Harry Levy, Stewart, and Lekel Love addedsingles.

Daniel Watson and Wade Williams each singled for Wesson.

Micah Davis was the starter and loser. Joseph Langham and BrianChannell also pitched.
