The death of a four-month-old girl in Lawrence County last weekwas from complications resulting from molestation, according to lawenforcement officials.

Daria Kmya Grandberry, four months, was pronounced dead atMarion General Hospital in Columbia on July 21. Daria is thedaughter of Keisha Grandberry of Monticello.

Lawrence County Sheriff Joel Thames said internal hemorrhagingresulting from a molestation as the cause of death was “confirmedduring an autopsy” completed during the weekend.

Investigators have several “people of interest,” Thames said,but he declined to call them suspects.

“We have an ongoing investigation into the case with theMississippi Bureau of Investigation, and we’re waiting on resultsfrom the Crime Lab,” Thames said. “That’s really all I can sayright now.”
