Services for Ottis Leroy Cothren of Smithdale were 10 a.m.,today, Tuesday, July 27, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in FranklinCounty with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation was Monday from 5-9 p.m. at Franklin Funeral Home andfrom 9-10 a.m., Tuesday, at the church.
Mr. Cothren, 91, died July 25, 2004, at his residence. He wasborn in Franklin County on Sept. 22, 1912, to Nolan Cothren andMollie McAllister.
He was a retired carpenter and equipment operator for District 5of Franklin County. He was a member, deacon and Sunday Schoolteacher of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was married to Wessie LairdCothren for 61 years.
Preceding him in death were his wife; two sisters; threebrothers; one grandchild; and one great-granddaughter.
Survivors are his daughter, Marjorie Corban of Pearl; his sons,Randalle Cothren and Roger Cothren, both of Smithdale; 10grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
