Little new info available in molestation death

MONTICELLO – Little new evidence can be released about amolestation that allegedly led to the death of a 4-month-old girl,Lawrence County officials say.
Daria Kmya Grandberry died July 21 at Marion General Hospital inColumbia.
An autopsy of the child, the daughter of Keisha Grandberry ofMonticello, confirmed she died of internal hemorrhaging resultingfrom a molestation.
Lawrence County Sheriff Joel Thames said investigators in threecounties and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, a division ofthe Mississippi Highway Patrol, were continuing to follow leads buthave little information he was “comfortable with reporting at thistime.
“I can assure you investigators are working very hard on thiscase, but I have nothing I can release right now,” Thames said.
Investigators have several “people of interest,” Thames said,but no suspect has been named.
Thames said investigators are pursuing leads while awaiting theresults of tests performed at the state crime lab in Jackson.
