LIBERTY — The Brookhaven Academy Lady Cougars dropped a pair offastpitch softball games Saturday in the Amite School CenterTournament.

First baseman Abby Williams had the only hit for the LadyCougars, a fourth-inning single.

Emily Langley (1-1) was the losing pitcher. Mabry was thewinning pitcher.

Bowling Green 8, Brookhaven 4

In the third inning, Brandi Falvey drew a base on balls. JessicaHart singled and Maddie Allen singles. Langley slugged aninside-the-park grand slam homer.

Gabby was the winning pitcher. Langley (1-2) suffered theloss.

The Lady Cougars, coached by Mike Rhodus, play SillimanInstitute Monday at Clinton, La. Game time is 5:30.

On Tuesday, Brookhaven hosts Bowling Green at 5 p.m. at theHansel King Sportsplex. Tuesday is Meet The Cougars Night.
