Services for Joel “Jack” Kizzie Huhn of Bogue Chitto are 3 p.m.Sunday, Aug. 29, at Topisaw Baptist Church in Ruth with burial inthe church cemetery. Catchings Funeral Home in McComb is in chargeof arrangements.

Services will be conducted by the Revs. David Moree and ZackMoak.

Visitation is Sunday from 1:30 until 3 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Huhn, 91, died Aug. 28, 2004, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. He was born in Lincoln County onJune 16, 1913, to Steve Huhn and Essie McCormick Huhn.

He attended grades 1-4 at Topisaw. He graduated from EnterpriseHigh School, and attended Copiah-Lincoln Junior College for oneyear. He was a member and deacon of Topisaw Baptist Church in Ruthfor 66 years. He accepted Christ at age 12 while attending WellmanBaptist Church. He moved to Chicago from 1934-1937 to work as anelectric welder before returning to Lincoln County to marry MozellO’Quin on Dec. 10, 1937. He and his wife moved to Chicago, thentravelled to Texas and Louisiana for work. He stayed in New Orleansfor three years, where their first son was born. In 1945, he andhis family returned to Lincoln County, where they farmed and hedrove a county school bus. He was retired from Ingalls Shipyard inPascagoula after 24 years of service. He and his family returned toLincoln County in 1976.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife of 64 years,Mozell O’Quin Huhn; two sisters, Lula Mae Sirkle and Ruby DellWilliams; and three brothers, Hiller, Dudley and Charlie Huhn.

Survivors are his sons and daughters-in-law, Paul Edmond andSylvia Huhn of Bogue Chitto, and Hugh Darryl and Nancy Huhn ofPensacola, Fla.; his grandchildren and their families, Gary Pauland Amy Huhn, George and Teresa Huhn, Jeff and Wanda Huhn, Mike andAngie Huhn and David and Betsy Huhn; his great-grandchildren, Zac,Nate, Emeree, Cassie Rose, Bailee Ann, McKenzie and Scott; a nieceand her children, Dixie Williams, and Will and Kristi Moak; andnumerous other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Gary Huhn, David Huhn, Scott Huhn, GeorgeMoncrief, Jeff Moncrief and Mike Moncrief. Honorary pallbearerswill be deacons of Topisaw Baptist Church.
