A memorial service for Lula Mae Pierce of Dallas, Texas, wasSaturday, Aug. 7, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Dallas.Burial was in Laurel Oaks Memorial Park. Laurel Oaks Funeral Homewas in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Pierce, 82, died July 30, 2004, in Mesquite, Texas. She wasborn in Lincoln County on June 27, 1922, to Thomas Winborne andFrances Allen Smith Winborne.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two sons, Wayne Pierceand Gary Pierce; two sisters, Aline McCoy and Hardie Wallace; andthree brothers, James R. Smith, J.T. Winborne and TroyWinborne.
Survivors are her husband of 61 years, L.H. Pierce; herdaughter, Belinda Owsley; her brothers, Thomas Winborne and CharlesRay Winborne, both of Brookhaven; and her granddaughters and agrandson-in-law, Jacqueline and Jimmy Taylor, and StephanieIreland.

Services for Jean Leggett Smith of Brookhaven are 10 a.m.Tuesday, Aug. 31, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church withburial in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogue Chitto.
Visitation is Monday from 5-9 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home. Awake service will be held at 7 p.m.
Mrs. Smith, 51, died Aug. 28, 2004, at her residence. She wasborn in Brookhaven on Nov. 8, 1952, to Christine Sullivan Leggettand T.E. (Sam) Leggett.
She was a former employee of Trustmark Bank for 19 years. Shewas a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents and one sister, GingerWalden.
Survivors are her husband, J. Michael Smith of Brookhaven; herdaughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Duane Meilstrup, and Emilyand Matt Springfield, all of Brookhaven, and Shanna and James Adamsof Hazlehurst; two nieces, Cathe Knott and Christi Walden; onenephew, Sam Walden; and seven grandchildren, Madeline, Kathryn andDrew Meilstrup, Stephen, Ben and Emma Kate Springfield, and LaurynKinsey.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association orHospice Ministries.
