BC girls down Franklin, Natchez

MEADVILLE — The Bogue Chitto Lady Bobcats whipped host FranklinCounty 17-0 and nipped Natchez High 4-2 in slowpitch softballtournament action Saturday. West Lincoln won the tournament.

“The girls came out hitting the ball extremely well,” said BogueChitto girls coach Scott Leggett. “We need to stop putting so muchpressure on ourselves and relax at the plate.”

LaToya Braxton (3-0) posted the win for Bogue Chitto with 2strikeouts and 1 walk. Casey Chamblin took the loss with 2strikeouts and 2 walks.

Powering the Lady Bobcats with a triple was LaToya Braxton.Candace Braxton singled twice. Singling were Chelsey Miller,Candace Avants, Devon Welch, Haley Roberts and Dori Hall.

Pearline Thompson and Tracy Davis singled for Natchez.

Danielle Sasser posted the win with 2 strikeouts and nowalks.

Candace Braxton and Shaquille Burton sparked the Lady Bobcatswith an inside-the-park home run. Roberts and Welch belted a tripleand a single apiece. Doubling and singling was Meleah Brown. Adouble was drilled by Hall. Candance Avants singled twice. Hittingsafely were Miller, Kayla Smith and Kelli Howard.

Bogue Chitto hosts Salem Monday for two games. The juniorvarsity begins at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity at 6.
