Ora Nell Brown
Services for Ora Nell Brown of Jackson are 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct.2, at Cool Springs M.B. Church in McCall Creek with burial in thechurch cemetery. Cook Funeral Home of Jackson is in charge ofarrangements.
Visitation is Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at thechurch.
Ms. Brown, 83, died Sept. 24, 2004, in Jackson. She was born inFranklin County on March 27, 1921, to Albert Brown and DinahBrown.
She was retired. She was a member of Morning Star M.B. Churchwhere she was a member of the Usher Board and the MissionarySociety.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her sisters, MariahBaldwin, Arcinia Connley, Merever Brooks, Lagathie Thomas, MinnieBell Jones, Mary Walls and Mary Washington; and her brothers, HomerBrown, Roy Brown and Hillary Brown.
Survivors are her son, J.B. Brown of Jackson; her brother, OdellBrown of Brookhaven; a special friend, Shirley Varnado of Jackson;seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Lorrin Kelly Nevels
Services for Lorrin Kelly Nevels of Tavares, Fla., are 2 p.m.Saturday, Oct. 2, at Community Funeral Services Chapel with burialin Wellman Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Nevels, 24, died Sept. 23, 2004, at Watermann Hospital inFlorida. She was born in McComb on Sept. 1, 1980, to Steve Nevelsand Lorri Strahan Worley of Florida.
She was a homemaker.
Preceding her in death were her father; and her grandfather,Doug Strahan.
Survivors are her mother; her daughter, Wednesday Abigale; herbrother, Jason Andrew Strahan of Florida; her grandmother, DotStrahan of Florida; her aunt, Stephanie Stinson of McComb; heruncle, Billy Strahan and his wife, Judy, of Florida; her cousins,Robin Phillips, and Haley and B.J. Stinson of McComb, and Williamand Ashley Strahan of Florida.
Clarence C. Smith
Services for Clarence C. Smith of Bogue Chitto are 1 p.m.Friday, Oct. 1, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inBrister Cemetery.
Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Smith, 94, died Sept. 29, 2004, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on June 10, 1910, to LeonSmith and Bertha Norton Smith.
He was retired from Kellogg Construction Company where he hadworked as a cement supervisor. He was a veteran of World War II, aMason and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, R.E.,Vernon, Woodrow and Elva Smith; and a sister, Univa Smith.
Survivors are his daughter, Vickie Sue Smith of Baton Rouge,La.; his son, Cliff Smith and his wife, Charlotte, of Madison; hisstepson, Victor J. Faidley and his wife, Jeanette, of Delray Beach,Fla.; his sisters, Hollice Douglas of Brookhaven, Pauline Burns ofBogue Chitto, and Alyeen Callender of Hixson, Tenn.; his brother,Roudalph Smith of Baton Rouge; his grandchildren, Dr. Phil C.Smith, Revia Nicole Cohen and Angelia Smith; his stepgrandchild,Steve Faidley; his great grandson, Bradley Smith; his stepgreatgrandchildren, Bill, Mandee, Samantha and Taylor.
