Services for George Martin of Brookhaven are 1 p.m. Thursday,Oct. 7 at Bethel A.M.E. Church with burial in RosehillCemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday from noon until 6 p.m. at the funeralhome. Family hour is from 7-8 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Martin, 101, died Oct. 1, 2004, at St. Dominic/JacksonMemorial Hospital. He was born in Liberty on June 17, 1903, to JohnMartin and Evelyn Martin.

He was a graduate of the Gulledge School in Brookhaven, andTougaloo Preparatory School. He was a retired employee of the InezHotel and a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, EuniceMartin; four sisters; and four brothers.

Survivors are his sons, Warren Cox and his wife, Alpha, ofJackson, and Maurice Martin of Albuquerque, N.M.; his two sisters,Jean Wells of Jackson, and Hazel Stewart of Detroit, Mich.; fourgrandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives andfriends.
