Gerald Edward ‘Smokey’ Moak

Services for Gerald Edward “Smokey” Moak of Baker, La., are 10a.m. Monday, Oct. 25, at Baker Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis Allenwill officate. Graveside services will be conducted by the Rev. BobLynch Monday at 2 p.m. at Montgomery Road Baptist Church inSummit.

Visitation is Sunday from 5-9 p.m. and Monday from 8-10 p.m. atthe funeral home.

Mr. Moak, 68, died Oct. 21, 2004, at Lakewood Quarters NursingCenter.

He was a native of Lincoln County and served as station managerwith the U.S. Postal Service for 37 years.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Barney and Eula BellAlbritton Moak.

Survivors are his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Hokie Gajanof Mandeville; his three sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie Marieand Bonnie C. Graves of Memphis, Tenn., Nadine and Groves Wallaceof Bogue Chitto, and Shiela and George Brown of Bogue Chitto; hisgrandchildren, Jennifer Gajan Mier and her husband, Brandon Mier,Kristin Gajan, Megan Gajan and Alexis Gajan, all of Mandeville; hisgreat-granddaughter, Emma Mier of Mandeville; four nieces and fivenephews.

Pallbearers will be Glen Wallace, Alan Wallace, Kenneth Wallace,Brandon Mier, William Moak and Alton Gajan.

Eldon Paul Smith

Services for Eldon Paul Smith of Brookhaven are 2 p.m., Sunday,Oct. 24, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Visitation is Sunday from 8 a.m. until noon at Brookhavenfuneral home and from 1-2 p.m., at the church.

Mr. Smith, 81, died Oct. 22, 2004, at his residence. He was bornin Franklin County on March 26, 1923. He was the fourth child ofWalter L. and Mae Smith.

He was retired from Stahl-Urban Comany after 25 years ofemployment. In his retirement years, he worked as a contractpainter. He attended Lucien High School in Lucien.

Mr. Smith loved his Lord, his church and his family. He was alifelong member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was an avidsports fan who faithfully cheered for all his favorite teams.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, AnnieSmith; and a brother, Marshall E. Smith.

Survivors are his wife, Nelleane Allgood Smith of Brookhaven;his sisters, Fannie Lee Lewis, Helen Smith and Nelda Wallace ofBogue Chitto; his brothers, Carroll Smith of Bogue Chitto, DavidSmith of Madison, and George Smith of Groves, Texas; hisstepchildren, U.S. Harveston Jr. and Jan Oster of Brookhaven; hisstep-grandchildren, U.S. “Bob” Harveston III and Alen Oster ofBrookhaven, and Alana Oster and Leah Smith of Jackson; and manynieces and nephews.

Services for Rudy Walker Jr. of Monticello are 10 a.m., Monday,Oct. 25, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial in New HebronCemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 5-9 p.m., at Wilson Funeral Home.

Mr. Walker, 43, died Oct. 21, 2004. He was born on April 12,1961, to Rudolph C. Walker and Patsy Donald Walker.

He was an unloader for Wal-Mart Distribution Center inBrookhaven. He was a member of Monticello Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his father; and his grandparents,Jack and Mattie Walker, and Albert Sidney and Betty Donald.

Survivors are his mother; his wife, Beverly Williamson Walker;his daughter, Frances Bailey Walker of Monticello; his son, CoryAndrew Watts of Monticello; his sisters, Donna Sue Ballard ofStarkville and Gail Thompson of Hattiesburg; and his brother,Sidney Walker of Monticello.
