Services for Thelma Lee Holmes of Raymond, formerly of LincolnCounty, are 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 1, at Alta Woods Baptist Church inJackson with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park South.

Visitation is Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at Wright and FergusonFuneral Home in Jackson, and Monday at 12-1 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Holmes, 86, died Oct. 29, 2004, at Central MississippiMedical Center.

She was a retired schoolteacher. She was a graduate ofUniversity of Southern Mississippi with a B.S. degree in education,and she received a master’s degree from Mississippi College. Shewas a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority. Mrs. Holmes taughtschool for 38 years at Heidelberg, Raleigh, N.C., Marion County andJackson. She was a member of Alta Woods Baptist Church and Women’sMissionary Union. She was a ladies Sunday School teacher.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Homer Ford Holmes.

Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Robert E. andKaren Holmes of Dallas, Texas; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law,Beth Holmes and Nathan Davis; and a grandson, Brad Holmes.
