Bogue Chitto, coached by Gareth Sartin, mustdefeat Lincoln County rival Enterprise to remain in contention forthe No. 4 spot in the Region 4-1A race. Under the MHSAA rules, thetop four teams in each region advance to next week’s 1A South Stateplayoffs.

Bogue Chitto (4-6, 4-4) and Natchez Cathedral (4-5, 4-4) aretied for that spot. Last Friday, Cathedral nipped Bogue Chitto30-26. St. Aloysius must beat Cathedral for Bogue Chitto toadvance.

A Cathedral win would secure them 4th place regardless of howBogue Chitto does. However, a Bogue Chitto win and a Cathedral losswould put the Bobcats in the playoffs.

Bogue Chitto head coach Gareth Sartin has scouted Enterprise. Hetalked about tailback Terrell May and the Jackets offensiveline.

“May is a real good running back,” said Sartin. “He runs theball well. Their offensive line does a good job coming off theball. They moved the ball up and down the field on Dexter lastweek.

“We expect them (Jackets) to come over here and play us hard,”added Sartin. “We need to hold onto the football. Last week, we hadsix turnovers. We can’t turn the ball over and win.”

Cory Washington rushed for 168 yards and two touchdowns in BogueChitto’s loss to Cathedral. Lange Porter rushed 10 times for 43yards and a TD.

The Yellow Jackets could be spoilers and keep the Bobcats frommaking the playoffs.

Enterprise, coached by Mac Bezet, comes into the game 3-7overall and 2-6 in the region. Last Friday, Enterprise fell toDexter 38-16 in a region test.

“They (Bogue Chitto) have a lot of speed,” said Bezet. “Theyrun, they throw well and play pretty good defense. They are a realgood ball club.

“Washington is a good athlete,” said Bezet. “Their lines do realwell offensively and defensively. Their linebackers do a goodjob.”

In the loss to Dexter, May led the Jackets with 26 carries for143 yards and two touchdowns.

Defensively, Enterprise was led by Chris Moak with six and ahalf tackles.

“We need to try to play the best ball we can play,” added Bezet.”And let what happens, happen.”

In last season’s contest, Bogue Chitto crushed Enterprise41-6.
