Services for Chaka Janea Simmons of Brookhaven are 2 p.m.Saturday, Nov. 6 at Alexander Junior High School Auditorium withburial in Carver Heights Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from noon until 6 p.m. at Williams Mortuaryand Saturday from 1-2 p.m. at the auditorium.
Miss Simmons, 14, died Oct. 31, 2004, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.She was born in Brookhaven on Sept. 15, 1990, to Wayne RandolphSimmons and Marion Bryant Charles, both of Brookhaven.
She was a ninth grade student at Brookhaven High School and amember of Brookhaven Living Word Christian Center.
Preceding her in death were her uncle, Terry King; and hergreat-grandparents, Cornelius Reed, Bertha Gaines and William andFran Simmons.
Survivors are her father, Wayne Randolph Simmons of Brookhaven;her mother, Marion Charles and her husband, Fredrick, ofBrookhaven; her sisters, Jessica Sharee Bryant and Brittney Dickey,both of Brookhaven; her brother, Fredrick L. Charles of Brookhaven;her grandparents, Carolyn Cox and her husband, Oscar, of Florence,Leatrice Dillon and her husband, James, of Brookhaven, ThomasWilliams and his wife, Cynthia, of Brookhaven, Contilewis King andhis wife, Cora, of Wesson, and Fannie Charles of Brookhaven.
