Services for Mavis Lavelle McMorris of Summit were 11 a.m.today, Nov. 4 at Johnston Chapel United Methodist Church withburial in the church cemetery. Hartman Funeral Home in McComb wasin charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McMorris, 67, died Nov. 2, 2004, at her residence. She wasborn in McComb on Feb. 14, 1937, to Hollis and Emma BignerWoodall.

She was a retired dental hygienist, having worked for W.M.Kennedy, D.D.S., Victor Walsh, D.D.S., Wayne Stornes, D.D.S., andSherrod Quin, D.D.S. Mrs. McMorris was a member of Johnston ChapelU.M.C. for over 50 years, where she served on the P.P.R. committee,nominating committee and was on the board of trustees. She was alsoa member of the Woodmen of the World for over 47 years, where sheserved in all lodge offices. She was married for 39 years to E.W.”Mac” McMorris of Summit.

Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, HughlonWoodall, Hollis Woodall and Farrell Woodall; and one sister, YvonneWilson.

Survivors are her husband; her four daughters, Pamela Gates andJoyce Benton, both of Bogue Chitto, Louise Dixon of Holden, La.,and Barbara McMorris of Livingston, La.; her two sons, RogerMcMorris and Sonny McMorris, both of Holden; one brother, KenStockman of McComb; one sister, Eva Nell Green of Summit; 18grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
