Lonnie ‘Jimmy’ Boyd Jr.
Services for Lonnie “Jimmy” Boyd Jr. of Bogue Chitto are 11 a.m.Thursday, Nov. 11 at Hartman Funeral Home of McComb with burial inShady Grove Cemetery in Bogue Chitto. The Rev. Anthony Yarboroughwill officiate.
Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. and Thursday from 9-11 a.m. atthe funeral home.
Mr. Boyd, 62, died of cancer Nov. 9, 2004, at his residence. Hewas born in Lincoln County on Nov. 19, 1942, to Lonnie Boyd Sr. andJessie Bardwell Boyd of Brookhaven.
He was retired. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his father; a daughter, Melinda SueJordan; his sisters, Faye Roberts and Rose Mary Rippy; and hisbrother Lavaughn Boyd.
Survivors are his mother; his wife, Sharon Coghlan Boyd of BogueChitto; his daughters, Angie O’Brien and her husband, Donald, ofSummit, Tangela Nichols of Brookhaven and Connie Dunnam and herhusband, Keith, of Smithdale; his son, Lonnie V. Boyd and his wife,Sonya, of McComb; his sister, Evelyn Bigner and her husband,Merlon, of Summit; his mother-in-law, Ann Coghlan of Albany, La.;eleven grandchildren, Jessica Groves, Tasha Lester, Alicia Nichols,Hannah Nichols, Alexis Nichols, Kristen Phelps, Katelin O’Brien,Sydney Boyd, Sarah Grace Boyd, Boyd Dunnam and Brook Dunnam; andone great grandchild, Coby Lester.
Pallbearers will be Kirk Allen, Kevin Bigner, Charles McKey,Steve Nichols, Larry Cutrer and Dennis Coleman.
Ima Gene Hoggatt
Ima Gene Hoggatt, 87, of Groves, Texas, passed away, Sunday,November 7, 2004 at her home after a lengthy illness.
Ima Gene was born on January 28, 1917 in Brookhaven,Mississippi, to John C. Golmon and Mary L. Arnold Golmon. She movedto Groves, Texas, in 1952 and was a longtime member of Groves FirstBaptist Church.
Funeral services were 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 10, 2004 atLevingston Funeral Home in Groves, with Rev. Charles Millerofficiating. Burial followed in Oak Bluff Memorial Park.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, William T.”Ted” Hoggatt.
She is survived by her son, Bill Hoggatt of Groves; daughter,Carolyn Ellis and husband, Ben, of Austin, Texas; grandchildren,Keith Ellis of Norman, Okla., and Connie Borkland and her husband,Jason, of Austin; sister and brother-in-law, Aileen and GroverHoggatt of Bridge City, Texas; nieces, Kelley Perry and husband,Lee Jay of Freeport, Texas, and Traci Hoggatt of Orange, Texas;sisters, Ara Golmon of Brookhaven, formerly of Port Arthur, andMyrtle Newton and husband, Roscoe, of Brookhaven; brothers, HollisGolmon and wife, Lois, of Monticello, and J. C. Golmon and wife,Betty, of Seminole, Texas.
