Bobby Lance Ashley
Services for Bobby Lance Ashley of Wesson are 11 a.m. Wednesday,Nov. 10 at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Wesson with burial in thechurch cemetery.
Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at Harrigill Funeral Home andWednesday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
Mr. Ashley, 39, died Nov. 8, 2004, at his residence. He was bornin Brookhaven on Aug. 19, 1965, to Edward Ashley Sr. and LaveneWells Ashley.
He was a cabinet maker at Wesson Carpenter Shop. He was a memberof Rocky Hill Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors are a special stepmother, Elsie Ashley of Wesson; hiswife, Cindy Young Ashley of Wesson; his three daughters, Trina L.Sessums and Kerry M. Frazier, both of Crystal Springs, and AshleyN. Berry of Wesson; his sons, Cody Lee Ashley, Justen Taylor Ashleyand Zachary Seth Ashley, all of Brookhaven, and Donnie Berry(stepson) of Wesson; his sisters, Charlotte Newell and BettyMorgan, both of Wesson; his brothers, Edward L. Ashley Jr. andBilly Duncan (stepbrother), both of Wesson; and one grandchild.
Lucy Pate Braswell
Services for Lucy Pate Braswell of Marrero, La., are 11 a.m.today, Nov. 12 at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello with burial inTilton United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Braswell, 88, died Nov. 9, 2004, at her residence. She wasborn in Jemison, Ala., on June 16, 1916, to Lum Pate and ElizabethPate.
She was a homemaker and a member of Powells Grove PentecostalChurch.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, JohnBraswell Sr.; one daughter, Lorraine Dykes; one son, Joe Braswell;and two grandsons, Al Dykes and Bucky Braswell.
Survivors are her daughters, Mary Nell Alexander of Fernwood,and Johnnie Dykes of Marrero; her sons, John Braswell Jr. (Jake) ofMarrero, and Edward E. Braswell (Bud) of Jayess; her sisters, AlfieBullock of Ruth, and Alma Bullock of Brookhaven; her brothers, A.C.Pate of Metairie, La., and Henry Pate of Brookhaven; 15grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and threegreat-great-grandchilden.
Karon Renee Brister
Services for Karon Renee Brister of Brookhaven are 2:30 p.m.today, Nov. 12 at Victory Baptist Church with burial in WellmanBaptist Church Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.
Visitation is today from 1-2:30 p.m. at the church.
Ms. Brister, 46, died Nov. 10, 2004, at her residence. She wasborn in Brookhaven on Sept. 2, 1958, to John Henry Brister andCatherine Kyzar Brister of Brookhaven.
She was a homemaker and a member of Victory Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death was her father.
Survivors are her mother; her son, Chett Bradley Nicholl and hiswife, Emily, of Brookhaven; her brother, Dennis Brister ofBrookhaven; special friends, Sammy Smith and his daughter, OliviaSmith, of Brookhaven; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces andnephews.
Mattie Priest
Services for Mattie Priest of Meadville are 11 a.m. Saturday,Nov. 13 at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Meadville with burial inMidway Cemetery in Meadville.
Visitation is today from 5:30-9 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30-11a.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Priest, 93, died Nov. 10, 2004, at Meadville Nursing Home.She was born in Franklin County on Aug. 13, 1911, to James T.Wactor and Dellie Freeman Wactor.
She was a homemaker and a member of Union Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, CliftonPriest; one son; one daughter; three brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors are her daughters, Joy Dell Jones and Linda Cotten,both of Meadville; her sons, Troy Priest of Roxie, and JimmiePriest of Natchez; her adopted son, Kenneth Ray Lee of Roxie; herbrothers, Alphonse Wactor, Carl Wactor and Ray Wactor, all ofMeadville; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 10great-great-grandchildren.
Glen Allen Reardon Sr.
Glen Allen Reardon Sr., 67, went to his Heavenly FatherThursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at 6:35 p.m. Glen was born Dec. 20, 1936,in Natchez to John Claude and Lillian Hazel Shivers Reardon. In1943 he moved with his parents to Prentiss and in 1954 graduatedfrom Prentiss High School.
In 1959 he graduated from Mississippi State University with aB.S. degree in mechanical engineering. On campus he was treasurerof his ATO fraternity.
Upon his graduation he entered the Army as a second lieutenantwith the 317th Armed Security Agency. His military service from1959 to 1962 included the Berlin Crisis. He obtained the rank offirst lieutenant in the active serve and captain in thereserves.
Mr. Reardon worked with Mosow Screw Company in Greenville asproject engineer. It was during this time that he obtained hisprofessional engineer license. He moved to Tupelo in 1967 andworked at Pennsylvania Tire and Rubber until 1971, when he moved toBrookhaven and began work with St. Regis as project engineer. Heretired from Georgia Pacific as senior engineer in 2001.
He obtained his private pilot’s license while in the Army andwent on to use his G.I. Bill to receive his commercial, instrumentand instructor’s license. He was a member of the Tupelo FlyingClub. He taught flying at Brookhaven Airport for both private andinstrument licenses.
He was active in the Mississippi Chapter of American Society ofMechanical Engineers serving as section chairman and also aspresident. He joined Brookhaven Little Theater in 1972 where heheld various offices as well as acting in different plays. He was amember of the MSU Alumni Association, Noon Lions Club, BrookhavenCamellia Society and was a member of First United Methodist Churchfor 33 years, where he held many offices throughout the years. Hewas a member of two mission teams to Mexico and served as a memberof work teams to Servants In Faith and Technology (SIFAT) inLineville, Ala.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Claude Reardon andHazel Shivers Reardon, of Prentiss.
He leaves his wife of 42 years, Rayceine Carpenter Reardon;three children, Rachel Reardon Shaw and her husband, Gary Shaw, ofRichmond, Va., G. Allen Reardon Jr. and his wife, Anne MurrayReardon, of Katy, Texas, and John Raymond Reardon of Atlanta, Ga.;he was Poppa to six grandchildren, Rebekah Stefanski, Joshua Shaw,Sarah Shaw, Timothy Shaw, Glen Allen Reardon III (Trey), and JackReardon; two sister-in-laws, Dawn Carpenter of California, andDelores Carpenter Desena and her husband, Frank Desena, ofVirginia; one brother-in-law, Harry Pawlik and his wife, MurielPawlick, of North Carolina; a nephew, Ray Schmidt and his wife,Debbie Schmidt of Kansas; and one niece, Kari Bennett and herhusband, Mike, of Virginia; three great-nieces, many cousins andfriends. Glen was loved and respected by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church BuildingFund, SIFAT and Hospice Ministries of Brookhaven.
Visitation will be at Harrigill Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m.Saturday, Nov. 13 with services at First United Methodist Church inBrookhaven at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Visitation will precede services at12:45 p.m. Graveside services will be at Prentiss Cemetery inPrentiss at 4 p.m.
Paul E. Wilmoth
Services for Paul E. Wilmoth of Wesson are 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov.13 at First Assembly of God in Jackson with burial in Floral HillsMemory Gardens.
Visitation is today from 5-8 p.m. at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home inPearl and Saturday from noon until 1 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Wilmoth, 81, died Nov. 10, 2004, at G.V. “Sonny” MontgomeryVeterans Affairs Medical Center in Jackson.
He was a member of First Assembly of God and a World War IIveteran of the Air Force/Army. He was former owner of Paul’sProduce in Pearl and was currently employed by Ryder.
Preceding him in death was his first wife, Savader Wilmoth.
Survivors are his wife, Ann Wilmoth of Wesson; his daughters,Virginia Haynes of Ohatchee, Ala., Elizabeth Bryan of Jackson,Patricia Connell of San Angelo, Texas, and Lisa Wade of Raymond;his sons, Curtis E. Wilmoth Sr. of Florence, and Rickey Harper ofFannin; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
