Services for Josephine “Ms. Joe” Day of Jayess are 10 a.m.Saturday, Nov. 20 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Monticello withburial in Jayess Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Day, 82, died Nov. 18, 2004, at her residence. She was bornin Lincoln County on Jan. 4, 1922, to Will James Rutland andFlorence Boyd Rutland.

She was a homemaker and former owner of Day’s Grocery in Jayess.She was a member of Jayess Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; threesisters, Hilda Renky, Annie Mae Thompson and Zelda Greer; and fourbrothers, Woodie Rutland, Will Roy Rutland, Hubert Rutland and GailRutland.

Survivors are her daughters, Millie Day Beard and Wanda Day,both of Jayess; her sons, Randy Day and Gene Day, both of Jayess;her brother, Jack H. Rutland Sr. of Brookhaven; threegrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
