Police seek 2 suspects in gas station robbery

Law enforcement officials are seeking two men today who robbed aBrookway Boulevard convenience store at gunpoint early Tuesday.

No one was injured in the incident, but an undisclosed amount ofcash was stolen, Brookhaven Assistant Police Chief Nolan Jonessaid.

According to Jones, the night clerk left the building just after2 a.m. and was confronted by two white men who came around thecorner of the building. The first man displayed a rifle andprompted the clerk to enter the store with him while the second manstayed outside.

The clerk cooperated, and the men left, Jones said.

Police are looking for two men in the incident, he said. Thefirst man was described as in his late teens or early 20s, about 5’9″ or 5′ 10″ tall with short dark brown hair, dark eyes and a smallbuild. He was wearing a gray sweat jacket with hood, baggy bluejeans and a red and white baseball cap. The second man was alsodescribed as in his late teens or early 20s and a little tallerthan the first subject with medium brown curly hair and a smallmustache.

“We’ve got some pretty good leads, but I’m not ready to releaseanything yet,” Jones said.
