Elden G. Hester

Services for Elden G. Hester of Meadville were 11 a.m.,Saturday, Nov. 27, at Bude Church of God, with burial in ByrdsChapel Cemetery in Meadville. Franklin Funeral Home was in chargeof arrangements.

Mr. Hester, 76, died Nov. 25, 2004, at Franklin MemorialHospital in Meadville. He was born in Franklin County on July 23,1928, to Otis Hester and Julia Murray Hester.

He was retired from Armstrong Tire Company in Natchez. He was amember of Bude Church of God.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, HaroldHester; and a sister, Mamie Ruth Wilson.

Survivors are his wife, Emma Fleming Hester of Meadville; hisdaughters, Clara Longmire and Janet Wright, both of Meadville; hissons, Glen Hester, William Hester and David Hester, all ofMeadville; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Fred B. Morris

Graveside services with burial for Fred B. Morris of BogueChitto are 3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at Easthaven BaptistChurch Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 1-2:30 p.m., at Community FuneralServices.

Mr. Morris, 73, died Nov. 26, 2004. He was born in Chattawa onJuly 10, 1931, to Fred Morris and Athela Wilson Morris.

He was retired from an oil field. He was an Army veteran withservice in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Baptistfaith. Mr. Morris graduated from high school and attendedMississippi State University for four years.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and a sister, MaxieSmith.

Survivors are his wife, Ruthlyn Morris of Bogue Chitto; his son,Barry Morris of Lafayette, La.; his daughters, Melinda Morris ofBogue Chitto, Jan Garon, and Susan Calhoun, both of Brookhaven; hisgrandchildren, Maegen Calhoun, Summer Calhoun, and April Garon.

Grace Gianforte Rodgers

Services for Grace Gianforte Rodgers of Magnolia were 11 a.m.,Friday, Nov. 24, at St. Mary of the Pines in Magnolia with burialin Magnolia Cemetery. Hartman Funeral Home in McComb was in chargeof arrangements. Services were conducted by Father Robert Dore.

Mrs. Rodgers, 85, died Nov. 24, 2004, at Beacham MemorialHospital in Magnolia. She was born in Magnolia on Sept. 30, 1919,to John and Rosa Sarah Lamartine Gianforte.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. James MissionCatholic Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, SamGianforte; and three sisters and a brother-in-law, FrancesGianforte, Vencie Gianforte, and Elizabeth “Tete” Gianforte andJohnny Bethy.

Survivors are her husband, Harry Rodgers of Magnolia; her sonsand daughter-in-law, Ken Rodgers Jr. and Kathy of Tupelo, and DavidRodgers of Amory; her brother, Joe Gianforte of Shreveport, La.;her sister, Rosa Pounds of Brookhaven; her grandchildren, NicoleRodgers and John Daniel Rodgers; and her great-grandchildren, SaraRoeder and Jacob Glen Roeder.

Pallbearers were John Paulsen, Randy Peets, Jefrey Peets and BoBland.

Katie Watts

Services for Katie Watts of Brookhaven are 2 p.m., today, Nov.29, at Friendship Baptist Church with burial in the churchcemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Services is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is today from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the church.

Miss Watts, 103, died Nov. 27, 2004, at Haven Hall. She was bornin Lincoln County on March 19, 1901, to Charlie Watts and AnnieSmith Watts.

She was retired. She was the oldest living member of FriendshipBaptist Church. She was a resident of Haven Hall for 20 years. MissWatts was a loving person who was always helping others. Shetouched the lives of many people who will cherish her memory.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her brothers, IraWatts, Zollie Watts and Burton Watts; and three sisters, ClaraSmith, Ruby Smith, and Verdie Watts.

Survivors are her sisters, Ivy Nettles and Dolly Jolly, both ofBrookhaven; and a host of nieces and nephews.
