Virginia M. Cole
Services for Virginia M. Cole of Natchez are 1 p.m. today, Dec.1, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial in EasthavenCemetery.
Mrs. Cole, 81, died Nov. 29, 2004, at Mississippi BaptistHospital in Jackson. She was born in Lawrence County on Jan. 8,1923, to Prentiss Newsome and Etta Lou Hemphill Newsome.
She was a retired licensed practical nurse. She was employed for30 years at King’s Daughters Medical Center. She was a member ofCentral Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, ElmerCole; and two sisters, Helen Flynt and Lavale Newsome.
Survivors are her daughters, Helen Thompson of Natchez, TywanaMinton and her husband, Norman, of Clinton, Mary Nettles and herhusband, Mike, of Brookhaven; her sister, Mae McGill of Laurel; hernephew, Don Sumrall of Laurel; seven grandchildren; and 16great-grandchildren.
Marietta Boone Cummings
Services for Marietta Boone Cummings of Bogue Chitto are 11 a.m.Thursday, Dec. 2, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burial inRosehill Cemetery.
Visitation is today from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cummings, 65, died Nov. 29, 2004, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. She was born in Brookhaven on March 8, 1939, toRobert Clyde Boone and Earline Walker Boone.
She was a homemaker and member of Bogue Chitto BaptistChurch.
Preceding her in death was her father.
Survivors are her mother; her husband, Elton “Buzzy” Cummings;her daughter, Karen Hollis and her husband, the Rev. Jack Hollis,of Memphis, Tenn.; her son, David Cummings and his wife, DebbieHostetter, of Arlington Texas; her sisters, Carolyn Virginia BooneJenkins of Brandon, Lanelle Huffty and her husband Billy, of BatonRouge, La., and Jeralyn Scroggins and her husband, Ronnie, ofClanton, Ala.; and three grandchildren, Christopher David Cummings,Wesley David Cummings and Jack Alexander Hollis III.

Melvin P. Ducker
Services for Melvin P. Ducker of Meadville are 3:30 p.m. today,Dec. 1, at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Meadville with burial inMidway Cemetery in Meadville.
Visitation is today from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at thefuneral home.
Mr. Ducker, 86, died Nov. 30, 2004, at Natchez Regional MedicalCenter in Natchez. He was born in Franklin County on Nov. 12, 1918,to Lawrence M. Ducker and Minnie Bufkin Ducker.
He was retired from the State Agriculture Department. He was aveteran of the Navy, having served in World War II. He was a memberof Meadville United Methodist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Wanda Ducker;four brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors are his daughter, Cheryl Jeffus and her husband Mike,of Meadville; his brother, Stanley Ducker of Purvis; and twograndchildren.
