Services for Nell Kinnebrew Smith of Raymond are 11 a.m.Wednesday, Dec. 15 at Tabernacle Methodist Church in Dentville withburial in Gallman Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9-10:30a.m. at Stringer Funeral Home in Hazlehurst.

Mrs. Smith, 85, died Dec. 12, 2004, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center. She was born in Copiah County on July 18, 1919, toWalter Leonard and Virginia Purser Kinnebrew.

She was a graduate of Gallman High School and Copiah-LincolnJunior Collge. Most recently she was a resident of Riggs Manor inRaymond. She was the youngest of her family of nine children andthe last surviving “Kinnebrew girl.” She was admired for hercreativity and attention to all details. A very gifted artist, whoonly began painting later in life, she had many art showings,including a solo show at the Eudora Welty Library. She was also atalented singer and dedicated gardener.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband,William Henry (Jack) Smith.

Survivors are her daughters, Diane Wever of Bedford, Ind., andSusan Wall of Walnut Creek, Calif.; her son, William Henry (Skip)Smith of Hazlehurst; her cousin and adopted daughter, Ann Williamsof Crystal Springs; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren;and a host of family, friends, nieces and nephews.
