Johns, Bowman, McNulty honored

Class 4A state champion Brookhaven dominates the 2004 All-Region6-4A football team. The Panthers captured three individual awards,led by quarterback Jimmy Johns, voted the Most Valuable Player byregion coaches, Tackle Jessie Bowman was selected Best DefensivePlayer and running back Ronny McNulty shares the Best OffensivePlayer award with Sam Reed of South Pike and Anthony Dixon ofTerry.
Coaching Staff of the year honors also went to Brookhaven. Thestaff includes head coach Tucker Peavey and assistants coaches RodHenderson, Patrick Hardy, Jaymie Palmer, Eric Stokes and TrevorBrister.
Brookhaven’s all-region first-team selections include MichaelThrasher, Bud Chatman, Grant McDonnieal, Taurean Jones, DariusPerkins, Eric Edwards, Anthony Caffie, Virgil Sanders and MarlonDixon. Honorable mention went to Zach Ray, Tyler Gatlin, KodyPerrett, Charles Wilson, Bart Sias, Richard Alvarado, WillThibodeaux, Brandt Hinton, Orlandus Chapman, Jerome Avery andMontral Smith.
