Couple robbed while taking out trash

No one was injured when a man was accosted at gunpoint androbbed at his residence on Second Street Wednesday, a policeofficial said.
Brookhaven Police Department Assistant Chief Nolan Jones said aman was taking out the trash around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at hisresidence at 409 Second St. when he was approached by two menwearing ski masks.
He was forced at gunpoint into the house and reunited with hiswife, Jones said. The men then robbed the couple, who was notidentified, of an undisclosed amount of cash and a credit card.
“They did the right thing by not trying to resist,” Jones said.”We suggest people cooperate in similar situations.”
The police are following several leads in the investigation, hesaid.
