James R. Cowart

Services for James R. Cowart of McComb are 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec.30 at Hartman Funeral Home of McComb with burial in HollywoodCemetery in McComb. The Rev. Tracy Hipps will officiate.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. and Thursday from noon until 2p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Cowart, 76, died Dec. 28, 2004, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. He was born in McCall Creek onNov. 28, 1928, to James L. and Lura B. Cowart.

He was retired after 38 years as a senior drilling supervisorfrom Chevron USA. He was a member of Central Baptist Church inMcComb.

Preceding him in death were his father; a daughter, Carol LeePawlicki; and a brother-in-law, Dudley Spence.

Survivors are his mother; his wife, Sharla C. Cowart of McComb;his daughters, Wanda Jones and her husband, Randy, of Ridgeland,Terri Travis and her husband, Brad, of McComb, and Susan Johnsonand her husband, Rick, of Slidell, La.; his sons, James M. Cowartand his wife, Beth, of Tylertown, and John D. Cowart and his wife,Christie, of Mobile, Ala.; his sister, Betty Spence of DiamondHead, Miss.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be James M. Cowart, John Cowart, Randy Jones,Ben Cochran, Kevin Marino and Chris Jones.

Memorials may be made to the Central Baptist Church Youth Fundin McComb.

Robert Joe Harvey

Services for Robert Joe Harvey of Silver Creek are 10 a.m.Thursday, Dec. 30 at Hepzibah Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Harvey, 63, died Dec. 27, 2004, at St. Anne Hospital inRaceland, La. He was born in Lawrence County on Aug. 3, 1941, toRobert Carson Harvey and Annie Mable Davis Harvey.

He was a drilling consultant with Stokes/Spiehler consultantfirm. He was a Mason and a Shriner of New Orleans Order. Mr. Harveyand his wife were in the process of moving back to Silver Creekfrom Pearl River, La.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, Robert JoeHarvey II; his brother, Jimmy Harvey; and one sister, Bonnie JeanWalthrop.

Survivors are his wife, Glinda Stamps Harvey of Silver Creek;his daughters, Tammy Joe Smith of Pearlington, and Tanya Lee Grosof Slidell, La.; his sisters, Francis Scott of Baton Rouge, La.,and Ann Sanders of Silver Creek; his grandchildren, Jessica AnnDwyer, Alison Lois Parker, Abigail E. Roper, Samantha May Crowe,Joseph Harvey Hoffman, Jacob Steven Hoffman and Jenna KathrynHoffman; and three great-grandchildren.
