Services for Arie Mikell of Brookhaven are 1 p.m. Wednesday,Jan. 5 at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Brookhaven withburial in Carver Heights Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday from noon until 5 p.m. at R.E. Tylerfuneral Home.
Mrs. Mikell, 98, died Dec. 30, 2004, at Countrybrook LivingCenter. She was born in Franklin County on Sept. 1, 1906, to AllenCrockett and Anna Herring Crockett.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mark MissionaryBaptist Church, where she served on the Motherboard and in theMissionary Society. She was also a member of the White Robes andthe Community Prayer Band.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, HerleyHerring and Oliver Mikell; her sisters, Leona Herring Dunton, LouOllie Armstrong Lee, and Desi Crockett; and her brothers, JamesCrockett, R.T. Crockett and John Crockett.
Survivors are her daughters, Helen Herring Chism of Brookhaven,and Ann Renee Herring Gordon of Milwaukee, Wisc.; her sons, R.T.Herring and the Rev. Allen C. Herring, both of Brookhaven, and JohnL. Herring of Panama City, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 15great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host ofnieces and nephews.
