Services for the Rev. Aubrey Cortez Everett, of Magee, are 11a.m. Friday, Jan. 28 at First Baptist Church in Magee with burialin Magee City Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Colonial Chapel FuneralHome in Magee.

The Rev. Everett, 80, died Jan. 25, 2005, at Hospice Ministriesin Ridgeland. He was born in Simpson County on April 7, 1924, toAubrey P. Everett and Mattie Sellers Everett.

He was a longtime residence of Simpson County. He was a veteranof the Navy and served in World War II from 1942 until August1946.

The Rev. Everett was a pastor and teacher. He was best known byhis family and friends as a faithful servant of God. He prayed andpreached the gospel with uncompromising zeal. He was a member ofAntioch Methodist Protestant Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and one brother.

Survivors are his wife of 59 years, Avanelle Dykes Everett; hisdaughters, Anna Gaynell Fuller and Tama Joy Schaub, both of Magee,and Lacey H. Rowe, of Brandon; his sons, Aubrey D. Everett, ofBrookhaven, Van Darrell Everett, of Kernersville, N.C., and TedDwin Everett, of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; his sister, Audrey E. Dabbs,of Terry; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host ofnieces and nephews.
