Lady ‘Cats wallop MSD; Bogue Chitto boys bow

JACKSON — Kimberlee Thomas and Meleah Brown pumped in 13 pointseach as the Bogue Chitto Lady ‘Cats whipped MSD’s girls 58-35Monday night in Division 7-1A basketball action. Candace Braxtonjoined them in double digits with 11 points.

In the varsity boys game, MSD dumped Bogue Chitto 60-44, asQuincy Clay led four Bulldogs in double figures with 18 points.

Bogue Chitto hosts Enterprise for Division 7-1A action tonightin Calhoun Gymnasium, starting at 5 p.m. with a JV girls game.

The Lady ‘Cats (14-7, 6-3) were led on thebackboards by Shasta Porter with 14 rebounds. Brown and Thomas bothhad 10 rebounds as they raced to a 31-17 halftime lead.

“Our shooting percentage was a lot better last night than it hasbeen,” said BC girls coach Christi Terrell. Her girls are battlingfor second place in the division race.

The Bobcats (1-18, 1-8) trailed 31-15 athalftime.

Coach Todd Wilson’s team reduced the MSD lead to 10 points butcould come no closer.

Keyounna Perkins led the Bobcats with 11 points.
