Services for Ellis Ainsworth Stuart Sr., of Wesson, are 11 a.m.Thursday, Feb. 3 at First Baptist Church in Hazlehurst with burialin Hazlehurst Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-8 p.m. at Stringer Family FuneralServices in Hazlehurst.

Mr. Stuart, 87, died Jan. 31, 2005, at his residence.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hazlehurst. He was anative and lifelong resident of Copiah County. Mr. Stuart servedtwo terms as constable and served with the Hazlehurst PoliceDepartment from 1957-1989. After retiring from the policedepartment, he served as director of security at Hardy WilsonHospital until his death.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Charles C. and AltheaStuart; his three brothers, F.H. Stuart, J.G. Stuart and PearlStuart; and two sisters, Bessie Carter and Maggie Slay.

Survivors are his wife, Myrtis Stuart; his son, Ellis A. StuartJr. of Hazlehurst; his daughters, Dot Brewer, of Hendersonville,Tenn., Sandra Sullivan, of Crystal Springs, Leisa Lide, of Pearl;his brother, Charlie Frank Stuart, of Wesson; a sister, EdithWhite, of Brookhaven; eight grandchildren; and 13great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or HospiceMinistries of Brookhaven.
