Jeanette Ross
Services for Jeanette Ross, of Hammond, La., are 11 a.m.Wednesday, Feb. 16 at Macedonia Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.
Visitation is Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
Mrs. Ross, 75, died Feb. 12, 2005, at her residence. She wasborn in Brookhaven on June 15, 1929, to Cecil Smith and GladysDelaughter Smith Diamond of Hammond.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church inBrooksville, Fla., and a former member of Macedonia Baptist Church.Mrs. Ross was a member of the Eastern Star and served as GrandMartha in 1992 and 1993.
Preceding her in death were her father; her son, Cecil BrucePalmer; her brother, Donald Smith; and her husband, Verne C.Ross.
Survivors are her mother; her daughter, Beverly Palmer Coplin,of Hammond; her son, Oscar “Buddy” Palmer, of Springhill, Fla.; sixgrandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Veda Grace Drummond Walker
Services for Veda Grace Drummond Walker, of Ridgecrest, La., are1 p.m. today, Feb. 15 at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel.Burial and graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. at HollywoodCemetery in McComb. The Rev. Cecil Herrington and the Rev. CharlesAlexander will officiate.
Mrs. Walker, 85, died Feb. 13, 2005, at Natchez Regional MedicalCenter. She was born in Brookhaven on April 17, 1919, to CurbyJefferson Drummond and Mamie Lee Townsend Drummond.
She was a member of Vidalia Missionary Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Otis LeviWalker; and a brother, J.P. Drummond.
Survivors are her daughters, Adelia Sue Walker Cothern, and herhusband, Zack, and Romona Lee Walker Lambert and her husband, Kary,all of Vidalia, La.; her sister, Hilda Mae Nation, of Brookhaven;her brother, L.C. Drummond, of Baker, La.; her grandchildren, ChrisCothern, Dawn Anderson and her husband, Andy, Heather Cross and herhusband, Kail, all of Vidalia; her great-grandchildren, ToriCothern, Tyler Cothern, Shelbi Cross and Hunter Anderson; and herspecial friends, Florence Townsend, Helen Aiguier, Margaret Biglaneand Effie Bell.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
