Services for Gladys Stringer Branch, of Monticello, are 2 p.m.today, Feb. 24 at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello with burial inCarmel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Branch, 88, died Feb. 22, 2005, at Lawrence County NursingCenter. She was born in Walthall County on Aug. 23, 1916, to WalterStringer and Effie McKenzie Stringer.

She was a retired seamstress with Pioneer Aero Dynamics. She wasa member of New Hope Baptist Church in Marion County for many yearsuntil moving to Lawrence County, at which time she joined CarmelBaptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; and onebrother, Otis Stringer.

Survivors are her daughters, Fay Jean Vince and Janice Russell,both of Monticello; her sisters, Claudine Fortenberry, of Morton,Elcyle Kennedy, of Bogalusa, La., and Joyce Alford, of Memphis,Tenn.; her brother, Johnnie Stringer, of Tylertown; fourgrandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Leola Doss Dickey

Services for Leola Doss Dickey, of Fayette, are 11 a.m.Saturday, Feb. 26 at Hickory Black United Methodist Church withburial in the church cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.

Mrs. Dickey, 57, died Feb. 22, 2005, at Natchez CommunityHospital. She was born in Claiborne County on May 21, 1947, to EvanDoss Sr. and Letha Jackson Doss.

She was a graduate of Liddell High School in Fayette, AlcornState University and Hinds Community College in Utica. She was aretired educator. She was a member of Shiloh First Baptist Churchin Fayette.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her uncle and aunt,Rufus and Secnobia Davis; two sisters, Beulah Newton and SecnobiaDoss; a son, Paul Anderson; her father-in-law, Emanuel Dickey Sr.;and her brother-in-law, Emanuel Dickey Jr.

Survivors are her husband, John E. Dickey, of Fayette; herdaughter, Kimberly Sayles and her husband, James, of Jackson; herson, Harry Anderson and his wife, Lisa, of Memphis, Tenn.; twosisters, Eva Courtney, of Greenville, and Patricia Franklin, of OakPark, Ill.; five grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews,godchildren, other relatives and friends.

Mary Lue Kelly Freeman

Services for Mary Lue Kelly Freeman, of Caseyville, are 2 p.m.Saturday, Feb. 26 at St. Paul M.B. Church (on the river) inCaseyville.

Visitation is Friday from 7-8 p.m. at Hazlehurst FuneralHome.

Mrs. Freeman, 80, died Feb. 18, 2005, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. She was born in Mississippi on June 4, 1924, toJames and Rosie Johnson Kelly.

She was a member of St. Paul M.B. Church for 67 years, a primarySunday school teacher for 10 years and a faithful Usher for 40years, with the last three years being disabled.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, WillieFreeman; and a son, Willie Lee Freeman.

Survivors are her two daughters, Mary Lee Mack and her husband,Melvin, of Los Angeles, Calif., and Thelma Johnson and her husband,J.B., of Loyd Star; two sons, Jonah Freeman and his wife Jo Ann,and John C. Freeman Sr. and his wife Josephine, of Caseyville; twobrothers, Roosevelt Kelly Sr. and his wife, Lou Fannie, and OdellKelly and his wife, Arcola; one sister, Ora Lee Bailey; 15grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces,nephews, family and friends.

Services for Oma Lee Rutland, of Brookhaven, are 10:30 a.m.Friday, Feb. 25 at Providence Baptist Church in Lawrence Countywith burial in the church cemetery. Community Funeral Services isin charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Rutland, 84, died Feb. 23, 2005, at Haven Hall NursingCenter. She was born in Lawrence County on Sept. 4, 1920, to DanielHampton and Jestice Thames.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Baptist faith.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, CabeRutland.
